Intercooler pump wiring

Alright guys I've been searching and searching and can't come up with anything. I have my pump installed and lines ran but I don't understand how to wire it. I've seen people talk about relays, hard wiring, add a circuit, all the above. I'm lost on this stuff. I hate wiring. Can anyone here lend some knowledge?

you wire it just like fog lights. you can wire in the indicator or not, up to you. easy stuff really.

Love that diagram Scott. It is great to show how to do it. Only thing I would suggest is if you use the ground to the switch and then to the relay instead of a power wire.

So where that black wire is in the diagram going to the relay from ground. change that to ignition power from the fuse box on the passenger strut tower. And the red power wire going to the switch, make that a ground. This is because then you have a ground going through the firewall instead of power. If the wire rubs and shorts as it's going through the firewall, at worst it turns on your IC pump. If you do that with a power wire..you'll blow a fuse and have no IC pump.

You may also want to consider a flow detect setup. This would tell you if your pump/IC is working.

When putting a relay under the hood...ensure it's etiher weatherproof or it's wrapped with electrical tape to help keep water out of it. I find the best weatherproof relays are on 92-99 Bonnevilles (they have them on the firewall with a 10gauge wire running all the way around the engine bay to the fans. Makes it nice that you don't need any wire and usually the JY is cheap.

the zzp intercooler pump is awesome and simple to wire in most of it is plug and play and adjust with the tps so the pump isnt full blast all the time helps out with the life of the pump.

I have 30 from battery to relay. 87 from relay to pump positive. 86 from relay to ground. And 85 from relay to fuse box. Now my question is do I need a switch from 85 to box? The switch provided was a built in indicator switch that looks like this.

How can I wire it off of 85? Double positive on lower and ground the top?

you can by pass the switch if you want to. just wire 85 to the in cab fuse box to a fuse that is off when the car is off. i would put a in line fuse on that wire.

Ignition off? Like what sort of fuse. Could I use a fenderwell box fuse instead? I'm sorry I'm completely retarded on this stuff.

I'm still confused. Forgive me on this one, but what's the point of the add a fuse? What fuse would I use? I notice it says it can handle only 10 amps per and our cars are mostly 10 and up. I do, however, have a Key On add in from zzp under the dash that I used when I had my alcohol injection on the car. Would it suffice to wire 85 to it?

yeah that should work just fine for you. as long as it only has power when the key is turned to run. otherwise it will just keep on running the pump when the cars off. and its fused. if you dont have a fuse the wires can melt down, catch fire, and well make you not happy....

Thanks for all of your help Scott. And yes it's strictly a key on power drop. It's meant for accessories. It powered my alcohol controller.
I think I'll do a complete write up on the entire thing for everyone to see it and take plenty of pictures.

power wire to fuse to switch then to the top of fuse box in the engine compartment.... ground to good ground spot...

done...

been working great for 3 years now...

There is no need to fuse the relay turn on signal from the fuse box ignition circuit. IIRC check the top connector to the underhood fuse block. I think A4 was fuel injector or fuel pump.
