Interchiller

Anyone run an interchiller instead of a front mount heat exchanger? An interchiller splices into the A/C evaporator lines and splits the freon between the evaporator and interchiller to cool the intercooler coolant with your a/c. It substantially cools the incoming air much more than an intercooler. They seem pretty popular on the V8 supercharged platforms but haven't seen anything on our 3800 platform. It allows you to run more timing and probably pulley down as well. I'm thinking about it. Hoping for some feedback or experience on a Grand Prix. I am currently intercooled E85 2.8 pulley.

or you could ditch the a/c and run your intercooler plate directly into it haha that would run so cold lol always thought how this would work too

seen vids on this topic, it dont work. once wot the incoming air is way to much for the ac to keep up with. ive heard of this on some super cars. but im sure it cost more then its worth to make it work.

It does actually work. Since the Demon had this from the factory, lots of other cars have been using it. People were putting these systems on 03-04 cobras ten years ago.

Zeph did it on a car, but the a/c system has a fairly small duty cycle. You have to run the a/c system for quite a while to get the water temps down in the mid 30 degree range. So while it is functional, he recommended that just using an ice box is much more effective and simple.
