I just got an in-dash dvd player for xmas and i was wondering if there was any special wiring id need to do since i have the bose system in it with an amplifier already. And in the harness it has rca hook ups for subwoofer. would that just be left alone since ill be running a seperate amp to run my sub?

What I did when i ran my stock bose system, i used an adapter harness and just hooked up the speaker inputs up like a normal deck. But, there is another plug on the back of the deck, there will be i think don't quote me on it but a pink wire that you will want to hook up to your remote turn on on your deck, in order to turn the bose amp on. as for the amp i'm not really following you.

pink wire says brake on it. i believe thats so only movies will play when in park.. thats not being hooked up. and for the adapter harness should i just get the basic adapter so i wont have to cut my factory wires? im ok with not having the bose system. but the bose system is throwing me off a bit.

the one i need looks like this i beleive. not sure if thats what u were talking bout for being able to use the bose amp

and on wiring diagram on the unit, it shows what all the rcas are hooked up to. like front right/left. and one says subwoofer but there isnt a red/white. its jsut a single brown one. anyone with a in-dash please chime in.

You have to run your remote turn on to the pink wire on the cars small harness. (the one you do not plug the adapter into) or the speakers will not work. I am pretty sure you have to have power to the brake wire on the dvd player or it will not work. It is suposed to tell it that the car is in park. Don't quote me on that one tho never put a dvd player in my car.

yes that is what you will need for an adapter, the pink wire we are talking about needs to be taken out of the harness that is plugged into the stock deck, not the dvd deck. If you want to bypass that just put that pink wire onto a switch and to a ground.

on the dvd deck it shows the blue wire being the control for antenna or remote control for amplifier. would i just run the remote from the back of that to the amp? and then hook up the pink to the parking brake circuit? id like to be able to use my dvd player when driving cuz i travel alot with friends.

Then hook the pink up to the remote or the switched wire. I think that'd be the orange one coming out of your new deck.

The amp remote turn on wire goes to the pink wire on the harness that is in your car. That turns on the bose. The pink one on your dvd player goes to a ground. That fools it into thinking you are in park and will play movies.

ok so blue to pink. then the other pink grounded. now what do i run from my dvd deck for a remote turn on for my amp?

Just read the deck diagram and put Lf to Lf and so one with the other diagram most times the colors match neways.

yeh thats the only part i understand, i just couldnt figure out the bose system. but itll be done soon when i get money for my HUmount
