Installing HID fog lights questions

Guys, have you install HID conversion kit on your foglights? my concern is: is safe to install HID bulbs using the same OEM housing? I'm just afraid that they gonna be a little hot and may burn/melt the housing. The other question is, my keyless system (aftermarket) make my foglights to flash when I lock/unlock my car. Is it gonna hurt my HID lights if they flash like that? Thank you for your help :)

Note: I installed regular fog light bulbs before and they melted the housing for some reason, when I installed them they burned my fuse, someone told me to put a different fuse and that was a big mistake cause it didn't burn my fuse anymore, my lights stayed on but they melted my fog light housing lol thats why I'm now kinda scared.

I ran 35w 5000k HIDS in mine for close to a year, and never had any problem with melting/warping.

They did blow a fuse once, but I replaced it with the exact same size fuse, and never had a problem.

Also, I always had my fogs on, so they flashed when i locked/unlocked the car...never had a problem...
Just buy a good set of HID's, and you'll be fine.

Thank you for your help :) that make me feel safer :) Also, you said you ran this for almost a year. So what do you have now? did you install better fog lights?

i got 35w 10k in my fogs and havent had anyproblems with them, and i dont use my keyless anymore because i dont want them to flash, but i know theres a way to make it so they flash but i havent tryed do it

I might stop my foglights from flashing when lock/unlocking by turning off the foglight switch, if the switch stays on all the time, my foglights will flash, so if I don't want them to flash I just turn the switch off. I was just concerned that quick flashing may hurt the bulb life of the ballast

yea that'll work,,, but not for me i got hids in my lows to, so if i want to use my keyless i have to put my parking brake on all the time
