Inner tie rod boot being a pain?

Not sure if I got the right part or am overly frustrated, but while trying to replace my outer tie rod, the inner rotated and ripped the boot. Got a new one, appears to be a fine direct replacement, but I can not get the end to fit over the housing. Got it slid on all the way, but it won't fit on so I can tie it down. Is this a common problem? It might be easier if there wasn't so much like the sway bar in the way. But definitely not pulling out half of the crap under the engine just to slide a boot on. Hoping to get some tips so I can finish the job in the morning.

After you slide it on all the way just use a long plastic tie rap with long needle nose plies to pull it tight.

If you need some more room put a floor jack under the sub frame take out both bolts on the side your working on to lower it a few
inches.
