Injector cleaning, yes or no?

So I have a set of L67 injectors here that I have for my top swap. They came on the fuel rail, but one was damaged during shipping. The o-ring retainer at the end is completely crushed and the tip of the injector is cracked. FedEx is reimbursing me the cost of a replacement plus a little extra.

Anyway, these injectors are off an 03 L67 and have about 80k miles. I can get a replacement from Ed for about $25. Do you feel it is worth it to send them to some place for $16-18 an injector to have them cleaned and flow matched? Fairly steep bill for it considering I could just put them on.

Anyone think the flow will be that different to warrant it? Anything I can do myself? Any suggestions of good places to have this done?

Personally I would do it if I had the chance to, it kinda puts your mind at ease knowing that all of your injectors flow alike. Here is a link that might shed some light on this procedure.

Fuel Injector Cleaning

My main issue is that they're stock injectors, and I don't want to put that kind of money into them just to have to replace them again down the road with larger ones. Though, I don't see me needing anything larger until I get an IC.

I found that page you linked me to before, and they were some of the more expensive ones.

Yeah I know what you mean, but remember the ones you are putting in have 80k on them. Who knows how they were treated or if they were ever cleaned. I can see the value in flow matching tho. If it were me. I wouldn't bother flow matching them, just clean them up the best I could and run them. Oh yeah, not sure if you covered this already but make sure you change the injector o-rings.

I already removed and trashed the old o-rings. I have the lowers, just need to find a set of uppers.

The trouble is finding a place that will just clean them, and if I'm going through the trouble might as well make sure they flow the same. Don't want one cylinder running lean on a higher compression block.

I might go ahead with it anyway. At what point to the stock injectors usually need to be swapped?

How much is it for a whole set?, for $16 bux each(almost $100), you could probably find a complete used set, maybe even a set of 42.5's

Ed sells them for $25 each. Not sure if he'd come down on a whole set or not.

I already have these that I paid for. And if I went the cleaning route I know they'd be perfectly matched and 100% just like if they were new. If I bought used, even 42.5lbs, then there is still a good chance of decent deposits.

I'll look into it, though.

He sells the L32 ones for $75 a set and the L36 ones for $50 a set, you could probably just get a set,

Or have the ones you have cleaned, peace of mind is usually worth way more than it costs :)

Yeah, knowing me if they're used I'd rather know than not know. I'm thinking I'll buy a set of ZZP's L67 injectors since they're cleaned, flow matched, and have all new o-rings. Then, I get $50 for turning in my five injectors. So it costs me $110 plus shipping to do all this, and I don't have to pay the $25 for a new injector.

One more thing to help me make my decision. I saw on Intense's site that the stock L67 injectors are good up to around 300WHP. True?

If so I can probably stay on the stock injectors for a while. Even top swapped it'd take a hell of a lot more than what I'll be running to hit that much. I'll probably get larger injectors when/if I got a IC and need to change out the rail.

i didnt waste time with stock L67 injectors i bought 42.5's from ZZP brand new, after blowing up my GN motor 3 times im not cheaping out on fuel delivery

If I hadn't already bought injectors, I might. But seeing how they're already here, I'm going to run them until I see IPWs maxing out.

I will have 1.9s. Gotta get the dough to pick them up from ZZP and send in the spares I have for cores. Gonna keep the stockers in my car now for when I decide to get a cam.

But... I'm about to have some porting done first. All in good time, friend.

yes. get them cleaned. especially if you are going to take your time getting an IC.
did it on my F350 and it made a world of difference. and I thought I was keeping my fuel system clean with the additives.

Of course, this promotes their services, but most of the companies that specialize in injector cleaning claim injector cleaner additives don't really do much. Take it with a grain of salt, though.

i dont think id go with the cam, i see a lot of horror stories with the timing chains. rockers will help the car breathe a lot better. im actually on the fence about headers
