Impala SS with Bose, have a few questions

Hey all, just a few quick questions before I start a head unit install on my Impala. I picked up a Pioneer head unit, GMOS-04 wiring kit to retain onstar, chimes, and retained accessory power, and an ASWC-1 wiring kit to keep steering wheel controls. My plan was to install just an aftermarket head unit so that I'll have bluetooth and USB input, and leave the speakers stock since they sound decent. I then considered replacing the rear deck speakers, but a little research showed me that these are 2 ohm and are filtered for lows, so the set of 3-way 6x9's that I have laying around wouldn't sound very good with this factory amp setup. My question is this- can I run new speaker wires for only the rear channels directly from the head unit, like you would do in a non-amplified system? Would this cause any problems with the rest of the system? I don't understand how these factory amplified systems are wired, so I don't know if having those rear channel outputs not hooked up will cause any other problems. Any help would be appreciated!
 


I'd just use your 3 ways honestly. As long as they are a good brand and have a good response range you won't really lose much. If you are that adverse to it, leave the wiring at the head unit with the adapters, hijack the input side near the amp leaving enough to reconnect if needed. Its cleaner, easier, and requires less wiring.

As an aside, look into Infinity Kappa speakers. If you have the money they are said to be the best 2 Ohm out there for Bose/monsoon equipped cars.

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. I had an Infinity 12" sub and Alpine mono amp that I pulled out of my Regal before I sold it, and decided to put them in the Impala. Since I was pulling the interior apart to run the RCA's and power cable, I decided to run some new speaker wire from the head unit to the rear deck for my 3-ways. I'm very happy with the results- the 6x9's really fill in the mids and highs and there's plenty of lows from the sub. It's nothing crazy, but it's very well-balanced and that's what I was hoping for. Someday I'll replace the door speakers, but that's a project for another time. Anyway, thanks again for the response.
