Impala ss vs genesis 2.0T

I was hanging out with some buddies tonight and on my way home i ran into a genesis that wouldent let me pass him. Everytime i went to pass he would jump on it and let off of it. Well he told me to slow down and do a roll, we slow down to 20mph and 3 honks later we both get into it. I pulled half a car on him and was spinning my tires. He passed me and around 80 my tires finally stoppped screacing. well we went to about 100 and backed out. He pulled into a gas station and we chated for a litttle bit. Told me he dident expect my car to do that.

Well come to find out he had full turbo back exhaust, CAI, ported head, injectors, evo 8 turbo, bigger intercooler, water/meth and was running E85.

So my question is if i wasent spinning do you think i would have beat him? he was a car and a half out when we both let out of it.

When i was deployed my dad put 225/55/17's instead of my 235/55/17 Hankooks. The 225/55's are brand new so i am gunna wait until they wear down. Then thinking about going with a set of 255/45/17 or 255/40/17, maybe then i can get some better traction.

What kind of power are you putting down?

Honestly, i have no clue. I still need to get it tuned since i had it ported and added the rockers and the headers. debating on weather or not to take off my EGR.

I am guessing maybe around 250whp. I need to get a re-tune really bad.

Were you racing in the rain?

With these mods: Pacesetters, Motorsport CAI, 10.3 ZZP wires, Autolite 104 plugs, P&P TB, Ported GenIII, 180*stat, 3.4 pulley, Custom exhaust, 1.9 rockers, 105lb springs, 3800 Performance PCM.

You shouldn't be doing more than chirping through first...my buddy had an SSIC, 3.2", Exhaust car...and it would just chirp into 2nd with bald tires...so anywho.

2.0T Genesis' run 15's with an auto...seen that. Unless they are modded they aren't fast or much quicker than my Cobalt was at all. The 3.8 ones with a 6spd and a good driver are decent enough for mod to low 14's though...go run one of those.

Is this the red one the GI drives that runs around Manhattan?

He had his hood popped at the last outing wanting to race every Honda there. I don't know much about them, but he had upgraded turbo, intercooler piping with likely a bigger FMIC etc.

Oh, and those weren't your tires spinning at eigthy, unless it snowed 60 miles from where I'm at.

I drive that red GTP you saw the night the cop pulled over those bikes when we all left Walmart. That 350Z wanted to race me.

Spinning through 80 is pretty impressive. Although I have to agree with others here, unless it was wet out, I don't see it happening with 240-250 whp. I feel pretty planted at 80+, with close to double that to the wheels.

I wonder who tuned that Genesis, bigger turbo, ported head, bigger injectors, ect.....I am disappoint.

Yup, that be him. either it was the tires screecing or my supercharger coupler has gone out. Oh and the roads were dry when we did it.

i put down 300+ WHP on an Intercooled, 3.0 Gen V, and i don't spin my ****ty Goodyear RSA's to 80 mph. If i get to 50 mph im lucky if i bury it off a dig. From a roll.....LMAO

even "if" you could, your 3800 Performance PCM has TQ management built in so that does not let the car do that.....

It only does it from a really slow roll or a dig. So i have no clue. if someone wants to come ride along and tell me if it something different then thats fine. But For now thats what im sticking with cause the squeeling noise is from a slow roll, it wont do it if i punh it at 55 or 65 going down the highway.

By that rationale, my 4-cylinder Sonoma roasts tires at nearly 90 mph(which ironically is terminal velocity, downhill, with a tailwind). I'm never replacing that squeaky tensioner now, braggin' rights, y'know?

I have no idea what your saying, it would be nice if you stop talking crap and help me figure out what it was. I asked on here and all i am getting is a bunch of people riding my azz.

Factory belt on the blower?

Belt slip is possible...I remember that when we put the pulley on...I don't think you had a new belt...maybe I can't remember...I was drinking after all.
