Ignition switch / Shifter problems - 2004 Impala SS

Pulled the car out of the garage and washed it. When I went to start it, nothing. No clicks or anything.


I started thinking shifter interlock or something of the sorts. Worked the shifter back and forth a couple times and got it to start.
Now the ignition switch won't turn back the whole way to off (PRNDL stays lit up) but I can still remove the key. I can also still move the shifter without the key in.

I should have looked before posting.. The bezel around the shifter easily snaps off. There is a second cable that is tied to a little arm. When the shifter is in park, that arm should engage. The cable is what allows you to turn the key to off and remove it. Mine is getting stuck for some reason. I'll dig into it later.

Oh and all the disgusting stuff inside that console from the P.O.!
