ignition or starter

A couple times today. When I turn the key nothing happens. Not turning over,no sound but full power. I have to turn the key off for a min or so the it starts.

hit the starter with a hammer, see if it fires right up. if it does the starter is bad.

if you hear a click in the dash when the key is turned to start its likely the starter too.

I would check the connections going to the battery. when I had starting issues the connector was corroded really bad.

So to clarify,

When you turn the key to the acc, on, or start positions nothing happens, but your lights are on and everything?

After a few minutes you try it again and this time the starter will engage?

Ya all lights are on. Go to start the car and nothing. It only does it some times
