ignition locking key in

So i have been having an issue with my key getting locked in the ignition. it seems to come and go randomly. what happens is i park my car, turn the key off, and try to get it out. however, it is locked in a position where the ignition is not on but it wount release. its almost like if u left the car in gear and tried to take the key out. i cannot even turn it backwards to the accesorry postion. nothing really seems to work to get it out. i try turning the car on then off, putting it in gear and taking it out, if i have the parking brake set i release it and change gears, turning the stearing wheel (which still moves freely because the key wount turn back to lock it). Ususally i end up sitting their turning the key fowards and backwards about a million times till it just decides to release for whatever reason. sometimes it takes a few turns sometimes i am literally their for minutes lookin like a fool haha. and then other days i have no issues at all. anyone have this problem before or know how to fix it?

there is a small plug on the bottom of the steering column under the key that will pull out and you can put a pin in it and push up the weight it will let you take your key out if you are stuck in it away from home until you can replace the switch that is what i did and it worked fine.

this explains how to fix it. it took me all of 15 seconds to SEARCH it.
