Hey guys, my dad just gave me his 1997 Grand Prix GTP Supercharged 4dr Auto
because he got a 07 350z...
im new to cars i had a ****ty blazer before this and all my friends have nice cars who i want to beat now lol
97 Prelude, 91 Celica, 87 FC Rx7...
i just have a few questions about my new car...
what exactly does the "performance shift" button on the gear selector?
how much boost is the stock blower putting out? how much boost can it safely max out to? can i simply just buy a boost controller to do this? or how else...i have no idea
what should i do first to this car cause i really dont know......
thanks guys

Boost Controller...no...that be turbo area's ;)

Ewww...a '97...you'll have to move the coolant bottle to do a intake of any kind. Transmissions are weak and funky (vacuum powered).

Performance Shift makes the shifts in the transmission firmer, quicker, and a bit higher RPM's IIRC. Depending on how many miles you might want to start with the basics...change the S/C oil too...and flush the tranny and put a new filter in it IMO.

The stock Eaton M90 supercharger's with the 3.8" stock pulley have been known to put out anywhere from 6-8psi stock...kinda depends on your car...each one was different...

As for mods...check around it is the most widely asked question. Colder Plugs/T-Stat/CAI or FWI/3" Downpipe & U-Bend Delete or Headers/Tuned PCM/3.5" or 3.4" pulley.
