Ideas for removing trailing arms

can't seem to get the damn things off.

The nut on the hub comes off, but the bolt won't come out.

Guys at the local shop suggested the bolt is seized to the metal guide inside the bushing and to cut it off or destroy the rubber bushing and get a new bolt.

Suggestions?

keep soaking it in penatrating oil, and turnin it and beatin on it with the nut on it thats wat i do takes awhile but works, or use a torch but carefully not to catch the bushin on fire,

just a lil bit so u dont damage the threads wen u hit it out words unless u got a brass hammer the u dont haft to put the nut on

I just went through the same thing yesterday on mine. I just kept using my snap on 1/2 impact going foward and then backwards a bunch of times and it broke free. If you don't have an impact then get a brass hammer or punch to knock it out with the nut on even with the face of the bolt as stated above. What trailing arms did you get? I bought the umi or uni ones what ever they are and noitces a huge differance.

Or leave the nut off and drive around until the bolt comes loose;)

LOL I like this one the most....

And I have the GMPP ones here.

I've got two cheap 1/2" impacts, both don't seem to want to do much.

So its forwards and backwards till I can't hear anything and BFH time. :th_thumbsup-wink:

But not till tomorrow.

Apply some heat onto the nut with a propane torch, it will expand the nut slightly. This could make all the difference with the impact wrench. Just dont set your bushing on fire.

not threaded, it does not thread out. you have to just hit it out. its just pushed in there and rusted up.

Just went through this last week with mine. Passenger side was no problem. Both bolts on the drivers side were rusted solid. Used a torch on the knuckle with a rubber mallet and closed end wrench. Used a dremel with cut off wheels to cut the trailing arm on the bracket side then a knife on the bushing and the dremel again on the bushing sleeve.
