I want a code deleted

Hey, I have a 2002 GT with a P0410 (Secondary Air Pump Malfunction) MIL. I took it in for repairs last year and the mechanic wasn't able to fix it. The only reason I tried getting it repaired in the first place was because I was due for inspection. I got waiver because the repair exceeded 500 dollars. I would like to get the code deleted so I don't have to worry about it anymore. I live in Albany, NY. Does anyone know where I can get this done?
 


I think autozone can have it deleted for you. Just tell them I need a check engine code deleted and they will hook it up and let you push the delete button.
 
its all in the PCM. it will have to be cleared by some1 that can program it out of the computer. like some1 with a tuner, dealership, shop etc...

Because I've done alot of research and it seems that even if you fix it, there's a big possibility it will happen again because water gets into the pump and freezes in the winter. Besides that it seems like alot of work and I rather have a mechanic do it, but I don't want them to attempt to fix it again, give me a load of bs, charge me 500 dollars, and say, "Sorry, we tried."
 
You can buy a OBDll code reader and delete the code. It really comes in handy every time a sensor goes cause it tells you what sensor it is.

I have a code reader. I can already clear the code, but I want to delete it so that I can pass my inspection without having the problem fixed. It sounds terrible....I know.
 
like said above... find someone with a tuner and have the code deleted from PCM so it never pops up again.
 
or since u have a scanner... just clear code right before u get to inspection... usually takes a day or so for ses light to come on.
 
Just to give you an update. I took the car to another mechanic a couple of months ago, and he replaced the pump and followed the instructions in the tsb. He also cleaned some corrosion on the relay, and the pump has been working with no CEL. I guess all I needed was a knowledgeable mechanic.
