New member here, long time GP owner. My 95 SE 3100 won't turn over now. Driving home from work, oil light came on and engine started running rough, then stalled. I got it to start and nursed it off road onto parking lot but it was really running rough and then died. Towed it home, now it wont turn over:th_nervous:

Anyone have any ideas. I hope it isnt fatal.

140k and ran great til yesterday. I just replaced the lower intake gasket a couple of months ago and that fixed my leaks. Should I attempt replacing the crank, bearings and oil pump or should I plan on a motor replacement. Money is tight but I cannot go without a car or buy a new one.

if you take apart the bottom end you need to get things machined. easiest thing to do is to drop in a new block.

veyr possible. on my 97-03 (assuming they are similar enough) you just take out the bell housing bolts and flywheel /torque converter bolts and the engine comes out.

Update to my motors health. It has a broken cam, bent valve, and a spun rod bearing that had welded itself to the crank.:th_sick2: The motor was locked up tight, making it difficult to get to torque converter bolts. I wound up pulling it away from trans about an inch and getting to the bolts with a long, thin 18mm wrench.

Bought a used 3100 from "flea bay" believe it or not for $700 delivered. Went through it giving it a very thorough inspection, replacing all the gaskets and cleaning it inside and out. No sighns of sludge, very clean on inside.:D

Today I got it bolted back into car along with a new solid rubber lower mount. I need to reinstall accessories and electronics and all will be golden. Thanks a bunch to all on this forum for the vast collection of information, It was priceless.
