I think I killed it...

my l36 block spun a bearing and i just replaced it with an l67 block. i didnt think that i was going to be meticulous enough to be able to do a bottom end. i still wouldnt want to.

Any of you guys have some tips on pulling the block? Can I do it without removing the front cover? I really don't want to have to jack it up where it is and remove the balancer and front cover from the wheel well.

EDIT: Also, IF my block is trash and I need a new one, and not only pistons, should I go with a NA block and do a top swap on it, or should I just try and stick with a L67 or L32 block?

i just bought a L32 from Ed, i had my buddy rebuild it for me. good thing we did, the balance shaft was shot, and the previous owner never changed the oil. to buy a shortblock and not go over it, and drop it in is foolish in my opinion
 
Nope front cover and all the pullies can stay on. It's close but you can do it.

A: you can pull it out without removing most of it. you have to take off the power steering pump.

B: if i were to do it over again and do a rebuild at this point i would get an l36 block, but that is what i would do. i like the idea of higher compression with less boost because it will drive better out of boost.
