I sold my svt contour for this

I am new to the forums. I had an svt contour that was totaled and I bought it with a salvage title. Put 6 months worth of work into it and a ton of money. Drove it for 3 months and the diff blew out, a common problem with those cars. So I sold it taking a big hit. My roommate in college had a daytona 500 and I really liked it. So I did some searching and found one in new jersey. It needs some work but overall its not a bad deal for the money. All I have is one picture for now.

Good lord that car looks clean, granted it appears to be inside a detail shop, but it looks flawless, save the license plate cover.

I see it has aftermarket headlights, and the 3 gauge pillar pod...So do you know what all mods it has done so far??

I actually work as a detailer lol. It hasn't even been buffed yet. It has some damage to the hood from a minor accident 2 owners ago. It doesn't have the Pontiac plate cover which I need to find one. When I got it it was completely stock with the exeption of the headlights and gauges which have boost, oil pressure, and trans temp. I loved my svt, it was a fun little car, walked on a few vr6's but now I have a little more power.

New car looks good, did you do the 3 ltr swap on your old contour?

Mine was the stock 2.5. I was looking at doing the swap but I needed daily driver Nd didn't have the time. Not to mention there really isn't an aftermarket for those cars

Welcome from a fellow Daytona owner. Yours looks better than mine as far as paint. Mine has been repainted and they did a bad job with it and I wish they left the flags one it. There's two other Daytonas where I am so I see them all the time. How many miles do it have?

It has 122,000 miles. The clear is coming off the hood vents and the rear spoiler but its not too terrible. Paint wise its in good shape for the age of the vehicle. Just that dented hood really bothers me :(
Ive been told a few times that I should take off the daytona decals off the car and my response is, well then what was the point of me buying a daytona if no one knows thats what it is? I like showing off what it is. Except I took off the gtp badges so people wont think its supercharged until they hear the whine pass them :)

Also, I just got a wizaraid intake for it for free. We had a monte carlo at work thats going to auction with it on. So I talked to my boss to swap my stock intake for that one and he said I could. And wow does the supercharger whine now

awesome car man, i was into the newer cougars, as you prolly know it has alot of the same parts, after owning i think 8 cougars i got into grand prix's alot less of a money hole

And there goes the gas mileage lol

Nice Daytona man, have fun with it! I know i'm having fun with mine, and I hear you on the clear coat for the spoiler and vents. Mine looks like it's faded and has a bunch of small swirls in it. Usually wax hides it enough that it's not that easy to notice.

Im quickly finding out its a thirsty little car haha. Yeah I want to mod the car, but just small stuff, u bend delete, and supporting things to do a 3.4 pulley. A guy at work is selling his sons 2000 cougar for 500 bucks that I was gonna buy to fix my svt but I didnt want to deal with the work involved because I didnt have the kind of time to swap transmissions. I think I made the right choice

Yeah sometimes my highway gas mileage is the same as city, lulz. Headers, HR roller rockers, intake and 3.4 pulley makes this car scream. I still need to put on my ported blower and LIM. That should bring more smiles per gallon, not too sure on MPG. :D

That's an upgrade compared to a Contour. ;)
Welocme to the family. Looking forward to seeing progress on your Daytona.

PS keep the decal. Some people may hate it but it is one way to tell that it's a Daytona. Added touch by GM, personally I see no harm since it was factory. :)
