i have a 02 grand prix with a 3.1 in it and i want to do a motor swap(3.8 supercharged) does the trans mount up or i need a different trans

The trans will bolt up. Your 3.1 should have had a nonHD trans, which isn't a big deal overall. But it is a 4T65E jsut like the 3.8 NA GP would have gotten.
