I have a question about RPM's

I have a 2002 grand prix gt 3800II stock, when i'm going 60mph my rpm gauge reads 2000 rpm's or more, ive driven a buick with the same series II and the gauge is around 1500-1700 at 60mph. is something wrong with my grand prix or do the two cars just have different gearing?

GT's at 70ish mph should be around 2300ish rpm because of the 3.29 gears.

GTP's with 2.93 will be right at 1900-2000

The Regal will have either 2.93 or 3.05 gearing.
