Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

I have a couple of questions about problems I ran into...

I just finished my swap, and here are the problems I'm having.

1- Low oil light is on when the car is on in P, N, D ,and 1. Goes off in R, OD, and 2

2- Temp gauge is inop.

3- Fans not working (they work off of temp gauge?)

4- I have a white plug by battery w/ 2 wires in it (one gray and one green) My old harness didn't have this, where was it?

5- Code P0102 Maf low voltage

6- The harness I used from the GTP doesn't have the ABS wires where my GT harness did. *this is the least of my concerns, but I'd like to figure this out.

7- no gear indicator light/ backup lights

The cars were both 99s

I know this is jumbled, but it's late here, and I've been racking my brain all weekend on this.

Here are my pics of progress so far. I can take a pic of white plug if that helps. Any ideas? Maybe a boost in the right direction? Thanks in advance.

nothing is wrong, it just is a little easier to use the GT wiring harness if its already there in the engine bay.

Either way, I used the gtp harness. I found a blown fuse tonight, that I must have overlooked earlier. This solved my mass air code and nothing else. I did find out that there's a resistor that plugs into that white plug by the battery. I got one, and plugged in, still no difference. Anyone know where I can find good wire diagrams?

Well, I've been on alldata since I got home from work staring at pin locations in every connection on the car. I think I found the culprit. *I hope* The Black plug (C1) in the back of the engine compartment mounted fuse block. (This is where the engine harness connects to the block) I got to the bottom row of this plug and found four wires in it. Each wire is related to a problem I'm having! This might be wishful thinking, but I'm really leaning toward that plug not being in straight or something. Now I have to wait till tomorrow after work to go look at it. My car is at my buddy's garage. Oh well, I think I'm onto something.

Well???? Was that the problem? Do you have pics? I'm getting ready to swap a 05 GTP S/C 3800 into a 04 GP. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry, what I did was swapped back in my old wire harness. It solved every problem. The donor car was hit in the left front, and had some damaged wires. I thought I had them all fixed. Guess not. I knew my old harness was good, so I swapped that in, and it works great now. After about a month of having engine in car, I spun a bearing, that's where it sits now. I have another engine to go in, but have no time at the moment. I'm also going to rebuild the trans while its out.

I totally understand that... I have around 10 projects going at any one given time. The Kit car is just one of them. I have an 87 Mustang GT Conv. 5.0 that's another. And so on and so on and so on.... hahaha

Well, when my engine went, I bought a wrecked Bonneville SSEI for the engine. Two weeks ago, I bought two more bonnevilles to fix and resell. I ended up using front end parts off of the SSEI for one that I bought. Its like a Pontiac dealer here. Haha! Now, I'm thinking about putting the engine in my GP, selling that, and my other two bonnevilles, and buying a GTO. Not sure what I'm doing. I always change my mind. Good luck with swap.
