I feel like I earned the stock cam m90 horsepower crown today

Yeah something seems a bit off there to me as well, I always thought that the boosted 3800s made more torque than they made horsepower.

What you are saying is fine if you are running the same dyno, with the same calibrations, with the same person. Again, I could go to a dyno in the area and make 210 hp. I could drive straight to my friend's shop without making a change and it might show 215 hp.

The fact remains though that the torque number doesn't match the horsepower number so the run needs to be tossed in the trash.
What you said is what I said just worded differently Lol

baby pulley requires yanking a ton of timing? Wonder if the car would make more with a bigger pulley and more timing? What are others thoughts on the timing vs pulley size?

Running 18* at wot and 11.8 (gas equivelent) afr. 0* of kr other then the random kr bumps on shifts and whatnot. Otherwise its 0 0 0 0 all the way up the chart on hpt. I could run more timing but the gains are small for added risk. Ill probably get a real dyno done in town here to get torque numbers.

Right the gains maybe small on THAT 2.55, Id be very interested to see what a bigger pulley would do with more timing vs. the current setup.

Does it knock if you crank it up?

If you get knock at 20* for example, then why not try a 2.8 and timing at or over 20* ?

My question is will the car gain some torque with a bigger pulley and say 22*?

I get it you say no gains with more timing but at what degree before it knocks?

Because if you increase more timing while not having knock and no HP or tq gains you have exceeded MBT. Which at that point cylinder pressures are getting higher and higher and all it takes is the wrong conditions to blow your motor up

What he said ^. Im not seeing or feeling any gains above 18*. One thing to remember is that there are many factors that effect where the perfect point of timing advance is. Alot of people forget that more fuel slows down the flame front and less speeds it up. So if I were to richen it up I would need 20 or 22* of timing. If I were to lean it out to 12.5 I might want only need 14* of timing to get peak output. Also air temp going into the cylinder and rpm effects it as well. Tis weird.
