I can't start my damn car.

So my battery died. I replaced it. I started the car and I noticed the security light flashing. I turn off the car. Now the ignition will not move in any direction, the locks won't turn in any direction on the doors or trunk and the shift button when in Park is locked in place.

I have tried wd40,the manual release, releasing the shift. Nothing works.

If someone could help that would be great because I vowed never to yell at an inanimate object.

un hook the battery and make sure the cable ends are clean and are tight. seems like it lost power.

Do you have anti theft that you can arm or disarm.On mine any time you disconnect the battery you have to disarm the anti theft first or every thing will lock up, tranny- fuel -ignition-ect.

I just have a gm key. I don't know how to disable the anti theft I do have it though. I have tried unhook in the battery for over an old our but I think it is in a mechanical lock down

With the theft system you might have to do a security relearn. Everything else shouldn't be locked up though.

What year and what kind of car is it.If you have an owners manual it should tell you how to disarm it.If not you might be able to look it up on line.
