I am thinking about picking up an '04 comp G GTP. What are the common issues?

Like the thread title says I am looking at picking up a clean and what looks to be a well maintained '04 comp G GTP. What are the common issues these have? It is a good year to purchase? Are they fairly reliable? It will be my winter and bad weather car.

It has a 158k on the clock on 45k on a new transmission. I am told it was almost all highway miles. But everyone says that.

Thanks in advance for the help guys. I don't know **** about these cars.

Would the mileage scare you off at Wolves? Or are these motors good for a long time like the LS based motors I am used to?

The motor is a 3800 Series III L32 which has the upgraded GenV supercharger which is a plus if you want a little extra power. However you will have to burn premium gas in that car. The motor itself should be as good as any other 3800 with those many miles. A lot of people on here have way over 200,000 miles on 3800's. If I was looking for a bad weather car I'd want to burn regular gas but that's just me.

Ha. All I own is go fast cars. So even my winter car will need some good fun power. I currently have a Vorteched 2014 5.0 and a '98 Camaro that is built front to rear with a turbo. Besides, who doesn't love a little extra power?

Lim gasket, coolant elbows, vc gaskets probably need changing. onstar antenna tends to leak, all are easy fixes.
