Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Hi
I have a Grand Prix 2005, it is not a GT. When I bought this used 2 years ago the dealer through in a keyfob. I walked out to the parking lot with the salesman and he had me inside the car and he was outside and together we programmed the remote. I have forgotten how we did this and am desperately seeking help. When "we" were programming the remote there was not a fuse pulled. Everything I find on how to do this suggests that I pull the MALL fuse. When trying to locate this fuse I was told it was replace by the RFA/MOD fuse. To stop make and even longer story out of this, I tried programming by pulling the RFA/MOD fuse and following the sets of turn on turn off open door wait for chime etc. Nothing has worked and I have yet to hear a chime.

Can someone please help. I can not take it to a dealer at this time due to expense. If you know the steps involved for programming in an 05 grand prix I would appreciate it, also when I helped in the effort with my salesman we also did not use a scan tool.

Thank you so much

IIRC for the 2004+ GP's you are unable to reprogram the Key Fob. You must bring it to the dealer...UNLESS...you have a OBD II scan tool. If you have access to one, then here is the process...

Transmitter Programming:

Important: All transmitters which are to be recognized by the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) must be programmed in a single programming sequence. If the system is placed in program mode it will erase all previously programmed transmitters upon the receipt of the programming signal from the first transmitter. Up to 4 transmitters can be programmed. Do not operate or program the transmitters in the vicinity of other vehicles that are in the keyless entry program mode. This prevents the programming of the transmitters to the incorrect vehicle.

1. Install a scan tool. Use the scan tool in order to access programming: Vehicle Control System/Computer Integrating System/Module Setup/BCM/Program Key Fobs. Press the START soft key on the scan tool. Important: The scan tool must stay connected until all of the transmitters are programmed.

2. Press and hold the LOCK button and the UNLOCK button simultaneously on one transmitter. After a delay of 5-10 seconds, the scan tool will indicate that the transmitter is programmed.Repeat the previous step in order to program up to 4 transmitters.Remove the scan tool.

Operate the transmitter functions in order to verify correct system operation.

Hopefully you got a scan tool and can do this...if not...dealership here you come.
