HUD Stopped Working After Huge Speed Bump

So I just bought a 2000 gtp and everything worked great. I was almost home and I hit a really hard bump. I let the car sit for a few days until I bought tags and now the HUD stopped working. Has anyone ever heard of this before. I haven't touched it and it worked on the way home the only thing I can think of is the bump. Any Ideas?

I bought the car from Cleveland on a Saturday after the BMV was closed. I live in Dayton and I did not want to drive all the way back so the guy had some expired plates he gave to me and I drove home on them. 5 miles from home this do good off duty cop in a metro is right on my ass following me like white on rice. My brother who was following me got in front of him and held him up at a red light while I took off and hid. I took a hard turn into this parking lot and there was like a small bridge/huge speed bump and I hit it pretty hard. I made it home parked it until I got tags and now it doesn't work

as far as the hud goes...There is a plug that ataches the harness to the hud...It is possible that it may have came loose on the bupm...Thats the only thing i can think of. Take the hud out and you should see the plug.

alright so I go out this morning and I'm getting ready to open it up, I turn it on and its working. I start playing with the dimmer and it gets really bright and then dims again. I think maybe I just couldn't see it at night and I really didn't know how bright it was supposed to be. I've read about some cell breaking loose on the back of the chip board. There are some write ups on this so I'm going to try it and I'll be back.

You would've been better off leaving the expired tag off and taking the bill of sale with you. When I bought my car I had to drive it three hours to get home and Arkansas doesn't give temporary tags (usually) but I lived in Tennessee. I got pulled over twice once I got in Tennessee. Just showed them the bill of sale and they said to make sure I went straight home. I did.

Just for future reference.

I bought a car in IN and I got pulled over for no tags and they made me tow it home which was like 200 or so so maybe the laws are different here or were then. I took apart the HUD and it's not the loose photoreceptor it was actually a burnt out LED or so it appears. The led in the internal display sits in the corner and its black and silver around it. I know they would never sell a single part like this and make it easy so I'm off to the Junk Yards.

well I ordered one off of the bay for 30 shipped and I started my car last night and mine was working. I checked it this morning and it only works at night. Has this ever happened to anyone and is there a fix for it so that way I can just have a backup when my other one gets here.
