HUD started dimming and Performance Shift INOP

This morning I noticed the HUD started dimming in and out over the duration of my 12 mile drive. Car is a 98 GTP and has 124K. Just wondering if the HUD unit is going bad?
Bought the car at 105K and the performance shift has not worked the entire time. I push the PS button but nothing lights up and I do not feel anything different with the way the car shifts... Any ideas?

I added the ZZP shift kit this weekend and still don't feel a difference in shift points? I added 1/2" spacer for 1-2 shift and 3/4" for 3-4 shift... Guess the car just wants to shift normally with no extra umphhh...
