HUD lamp and Heat Shield Rattle

Hey Everyone,

Now that I have got a lot of the big issues out of the way with my 2000 Grand Prix GTP, I thought I would ask about a few smaller things.

1. My HUD appears on my windsheild, however it fads in and out. When I first start using it, it is very bright but after about 10 mins it becomes faded. Is this telling me that I have to change the bulb (I don't think this is by design). If I have to change the bulb, is this something I can do...and if so how?

2. I am hearing a rattle underneath the car (approx centre of body) that is intermittent when the car is idling. No noise when I put the car in drive. I am figuring this is the heat shield. Is there an easy way of fixing this?

Upon looking more into this...I believe that there is no bulb for the HUD. I now remember reading something about the light sensor could be malfunctioning. Is this an easy fix (or a cheap one for a mechanic)?
