Hey guys. First post here and looking for some help right away. My girlfriend has a 1994 Grand Prix and it has some turn signal issues. They only work if you hold it a certain way, and the other day we were driving and I noticed smoke coming out of the steering column as the turn signals were on . Anyone on here got advice as to what is wrong? Or a link to a repair manual available for download? I'm not sure how to get the steering wheel off so if someone can let me know that'd be great. Thanks for any and all help guys!!! :th_thumbsup-wink:

Hey welcome!

My educated guess is the turn signal switch on the column has given it up. What I am not certain is if the wheel has to come off or can the top and bottom column covers be separated to get to the switch and remove.

Look under the column for screws going into the bottom plastic cover, remove them and see if you can separate the top and bottom plastic covers.

Thanks! I will definitely look into that. :th_thumbsup-wink:

Sup?

Sounds like the switch is gone. Have someone get one from the junkyard or from Pontiac. The yard would be cheaper. I had a 93, but I can't recall if the wheel had to come off. I think so. You can rent a steeringwheel tool from autozone. Theycan give u some instructions also but to me it's kinda self explainitory. I did a radiator install four times in one week on the one I had. I still got feelings for that car lol
