How to Install an Air/Fuel guage?

First off I would like to say that I am a new member and that I am really happy to be here. I was just wondering how to install an Air/Fuel gauge in my car? Everything that I have read says to not mess with the wiring coming off the o2 sensor because it's shielded. So I was wondering where should I tap into it from? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Real Air fuel gauge have there own sensor like this.

If you bought/have a narrow band air fuel gauge like this, then all that does is give you a light show. It's never accurate or valid in anyway.

Yeah I did get the narrow band gauge, so I guess I'll have to go get the wide band gauge instead. Thank you for your help.

Narrowband is absolutely useless under heavy load -- get a wideband and run it along side the factory o2

I had a narrowband once, and it got extremely annoying after about 1 day after install. It's useless.

To read AFR accurately, you need a Wideband. I have the one pictured above, AEM. I want to say it's roughly $150 or so off eBay, but well worth the money. It comes with it's own o2 sensor, so all you do is get a bung welded somewhere in your downpipe, most likely near your factory o2 sensor, and then screw the AEM o2 sensor into the new bung. Then run the wires up to your gauge.

for a narrow band it's gonna be a wire off the o2 sensor on your car. probably a green wire
