How much Fluid for Trans Filter Change

Could someone please tell me how much Trans Fluid I need for a Trans filter change? (I cant find my haynes manual..lol) I sssume 3-4 qts..but would like to hear from someone that has done it and knows for sure..

I think i used 6 or 7 bottles. Not all the fluid will drain out 8 bottles would probably be for a bone dry trans?
 
Wow 7-8 qts? good thing I asked..I have done many trans/filters before and never had a car that drained out anywhere near that much...
 


Spec says 6.5 quarts, Each time I'm using 7 almost 8 quarts. Once I left the trans open for a week with only the pan missing. 10 quarts.
 
I had always heard 7.2 quarts for a pan drop. And 12 for a dry tranny.

I let the pan off for long enough to clean it with brake clean and change the filter. Probably 20 minutes tops.
