How much does it acutally cost to own a tesla?

Okay i am not sure how i got to this but i am wondering about the tesla and electric cars in general.

So the tesla p85d does 0-60 in 3.2 seconds in insane mode
It has very quick acceleration but also very friendly usability for a daily driver.
So with all this performance you get and the actual cost of the car, is it really a bargain?
How much does it actually cost to recharge the batteries on these cars?
How long does it take?

Is it actually cheaper in the long run to have a high electric bill vs having a performance car that gets 15 mpg on premium

My opinion is that it probably cost a lot in electric to recharge it
It's a fire hazard in general waiting to happen
I know the underbody of the car is huge lithium battery so what about when you drive it in salt?
I for one would get sick of how quiet it is, but i really do think its the car of the future.

Make sure you factor in the cost of a new home when it bursts into flames in your garage.

Edit: And a tow truck when its battery randomly discharges, leaving you unable to even pull the door handle.

Even the hybrids, non-electric are not really THAT cost effective... But if you want something that not many have, or would blow their $ on, go for it and let us know how it is! Is the only way... : )

I checked out the Tesla web site awhile ago. I had the same questions.
Charge time is stupid slow, even on the quick super blast charger.
You get 3 miles for an hour of charge on a 15 amp circuit....29 miles for an hour of charge on a 40 amp circuit

Gimme gas
