How much are Daytona 500 gp worth?

I've got the opportunity to buy one of these, not sure what to evaluate it as.

How rare are these cars? Should the trim raise the price of them? And other than appearance, what is different? And if I get it, should I fix and sell, or part out?

Any advice is helpful!

Not worth anymore than any other grand prix.

It's just a package option with really not that much stuff over a standard car. Mileage and condition will determine the price but it's still a $1,500-3,000 car.

Sure, if it's cheap enough to fix and clean up you can totally double your money or better.

A clean car is much easier to sell than a dirty car, so spit shine that sucker once it's fixed.

Lol took it on a test drive and as the owner was pulling it in, the engine took a crap and seized! Think that's a no go... I'll wait and pull the parts at the junkyard for next to nothing... Lol

Why not just offer him less money and toss a used motor in it?

Sounds like you may have lost out on a possible $1,000+ payday if you had the time to space.

You're completely right. Unfortunately that's what I get for being an Engineering student with no money, time, or a wife who wants me working on cars at all... :(

Good news though is that she has ok'd a supercharged pontiac montana swap when I save up the money! :D might take me a while though...

That sucks. Too bad you've been ok'd for a minivan.

Props on the engineering school. Keep with it and you can make some bank. If you do end up with a Montana have fun with the S/C swap. Wife might actually enjoy it too once it's done which might give you a break on the whole working on the cars part ;)

If you plan on doing this it might help to have a reliable DD around while the upgrades are going in. I've had 3 cars for 2 drivers for years and not once have I caught crap about a car being down too long, whether it be maint. issues or an upgrade.

Thanks FordMan! Loosing a little bit of hope taking Engineering Physics 2 which is crushing my soul....

Just barely got my grand prix "project car" stable after dumping WAY too much money just returning it to stock... lol

Funny how $200 craigslist cars tend to do that to your wallet... :th_laugh-lol3: worth every penny though!

It definitely depends on mileage and condition in regards of how much it's worth. They do get a little bit more interest then just a GTP. To give you an idea, I had to let go of a 7700 mile 00 GTP Daytona 500 that was about as close to new as I'm ever going to find. I got $8K cash for the car, and happened to have 2 more individuals offer me $8.5K right after I accepted the $8K offer but hadn't completed the deal yet. So there is a following and interest still out there for these cars and they are sought after in excellent condition. Especially the coupes.
