How many wires are connected to the starter?

Well, heres the stupid question of the day... I just finished hooking up all the connections to my new motor and trans, but I have one heavy guage wire on the bottom front right side of the engine bay (the end of it has a round connection with a tab on it), and I dont know where it goes. Im thinking it might go to the starter but I am not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 


I bet it is your ground the goes to the bottom left bell bolt(if you are standing on the driverside of the car and looking at the engine). The one that has a stud and a nut on it where your other ground wires are..

Thats what I thought it was, but when I tried to reconnect my battery I got a huge spark, so something was shorting out. When I looked at this wire I saw that it has a red rubber insulator at the end of it, which makes me think its positive
