I recently did the same mod on my car.

No a common problem with the LaserJet 1320 is a tab inside breaks and it doesn't let the laser work right, it prints blank paper. So the fork holds the tab down to engage the Laser.

Why don't you open it up and glue or tape the tab down? A little less thereifixedit...
