Horrible front rattling

On my 04gt I think my entire front end is totally shot. It handles like a wet noodle and when I go over bumps the front end rattles so bad... Railroad tracks, little bumps, dirt roads, it just rattles and shakes. I go about 25mph on all dirt roads becuse I hate them and becuse everything rattles up front. I've read the threads of what people are buying new for their giant front end replacement but I'm just wondering what is going to get that rattling to stop. I have no idea when anything had been changed. I've had it for 8k and haven't changed anything and God knows what the PO pit in . what is the best thing to get that ratting stop for the cheapest.

Jack it up and pull on both front tires, checking for any play at all. Also check rack mounting bolts, sub frame bolts/bushings as well as strut mounts. Rattling is often LCA bushings, check those too. They always go

I've had the same issue and I'm replacing lower ball joints, outer tie rod ends, and stabilizer bar bushings and end links. Also check your strut mounts for cracking. If your ball joints have never been done you will need to grind out the rivets holding the old ones in place. New ones come with bolts to replace the rivets.

Your 04 should have actual sway bar links and not the bushing style links that you piece together.

I bet those are loose and cause most of the clunking/rattle. You should be able to grab the bottom of the link and push up and down and ball and socket joint will clunk away.

Did that change? My 07 end links are the bar with a bunch of washers and bushings. Either way the bushings I was suggesting are the bracket bushings where the bar is bolted to the subframe. Those tend to elongate over time and allow play.

Alright so I should probably look into the sway bar links and control arms first? And I notice my back end clunking over bumps... Could those be the lca? I'm sure my struts are past it becuse it sits pretty low and don't want major 4x4 that new struts come with haha

Well check it all out. Not much to clunk in the rear end, strut mounts could be super shot. Or the exhaust banging around. No lcas in the back though. And yeah I'm rocking the 4x4 look with 4 new quick struts

I'm sure most things need to be changed out but just looked at replacing the control arms and it looks like $100 at Rock auto and a pretty strait forward instalation.

For me the bolt was seized to the metal insert in the front bushing, so it could not be removed. What finally worked was using an impact gun to spin the bolt, and a hammer and long extension on top at the same time (with a friend of course). It was crazy, but I didn't want to cut anything. Antiseize went on every bolt on the reinstall

Oh ok... I will probably wrestle with it for a while. Probably not until late this year because the tenzo's set me back pretty far and with school started I'm not getting any hours at work haha
