anyone run these. they are popular in the zr2 forum im on but never heard about any one running them on a grand prix. plan on switching the lights over from my truck since this is now my dd. They were a great improvment in the truck so i plan for same results. Just thought i would make people aware of this option instead of blinding everyone with glare with your hid's. No it doesn't give you that "cool" white/blue look but what it does give you is a great light output. Yes im aware you can make shim the hid lights to get a better projection but these are a lot less work to make work right.

HIR Headlights 9011 9012 bulbs

I ran the 9011 HIR's in my Spyder Projectors..and they were awesome. (along with HID low beams)

I had Silverstar Ultra's for my high's, but replaced them with the HIRs and it was a night/day difference. Granted they were almost $20 a bulb, but absolutely worth it.

Well, enough that I went from only running Silverstar's to only the HIR's..XD

They still arent as bright as HIDS, being as they are still halogens, but they are a good bit brighter than the Silverstars...Probably close to twice as bright in my case (with the projectors, not a factory housing)

Just for the record...I only used the High Beam bulb, not the lowbeam...so results may vary XD

But the highbeam was amazingly better, so I would expect the low-beam to be as well.

both my high and low are halogen. i just have projectors for my lows.

if i wanted HIDs i would have to retrofit a HID projector into my housings and im way too lazy for that.

when I drive the wife's minivan (09 dodge grand caravan) and switch on the high beams I'm like WTF, what is wrong with these, they suck, seem just slightly better then the low's in my 07 gp. When I use my high's they have plenty of light output. I just don't see the point in changing the bulbs in 04+ gp's. Now if the owners of 97-03 gp have the same light output as a 09 grand caravan I can defiantly understand their need to change things.

I still have the factory housings and they don't make them for the 9007 so I'll have to pass.
If I do retrofits, I'll be going full HIDs... and I don't want to buy the Spyders to use these and have to fix the brackets.

im changing mine because i already have them and since the truck is a toy/ offload rig i might as well have them in the 05 grand prix daily driver. ill add pics once i put them in. I just have a lot going on lately and haven't been able to get to them.

do 04+ use 9007 ? i haven't looked at mine yet but a quick autozone search said they were 9005/ 9006

97-03 use the 9007 (single bulb for low/high beam)

the 04+ use the 9005/9006

or 97-03 cars with the spyder projectors will use the H1's/9006s because the housing is projector for low beam and capsule for highs

EDIT: corrected
