high pressure power steering hose 2006 3.8

Hey, I have a 2006 pontiac grand prix non supercharged. Ordered a new high pressure power steering hose. When I compare them, one of the end angles isn't exactly like the other. So when I put it on, where the line is supposed to go beneath another line to mount below the exhaust, it does not line up. I am not sure what exactly is going on. I went to oreilly and ordered one from them thinking mine was a bad hose. the same thing happened there. Neither of us are sure why there is a small difference. They even ordered one for a supercharged engine thinking it might work instead, it did not. Any how, was wondering if anyone has changed their hose on an 06 and ran in to any similar problems. Also can I use a universal line? I called GM and they told me to order a GM genuine part. It is about twice the cost, but I may end up going that route.

Thanks
Taylor

here are two pictures. As you can see, the angle on the left connector on the hose is less than 90 degrees. On the piece I ordered, it is closer to 90 degrees. On the other picture, I had to attach to hose to the bar to keep it off the exhaust. It is supposed to mount beneath the hose that you can see behind it.

first things first, get that hose clamp off the line asap, its only gonna wear through the line and leak for ya.

as long as the new line bolts in and is clear of every thing id just let it fly where its wants to go.

you could always bend the line where it needs to be adjusted. a small pipe bender would be best for that job, 5 to 10 bucks at the parts store.
