:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

At first I thought someone did this, but now i'm starting to think the car did this to its self. I keep getting mixed ideas but don't want to believe someone did this. I want to think it just had the bad orings so if anyone could help please do.

Bad enough that my tires popped and my hood melted pretty much everything under the hood is done for it burnt through the firewall and melted the dash.

Car probably did it to itself because of those scoops on the hood. :P

J/K That sucks. I guess just be glad it didnt happen while you were driving down the highway or anything.

who the f@ck takes a picture when their car is on fire?

sorry to hear, but you wouldve blown it up sooner or later with your unsupported pulley

think og this as a gift to you, now you can collect the insurance money then start over and do it right, save you some money too bro

There is/was a recall on these cars for just this reason. Oil leaks from under the front valve covers, gets on the exhaust manifold, and catches fire. Just google grand prix recall. You will probably find quite a bit. Sorry about your luck man :(

If you had this car for less than a month and you bought it from a dealer I would contact the dealership and argue that they sold you a dangerous vehicle and if they don't do something to take care of it then you will be contacting a lawyer or something to that extent.

I called the dealer and the reaction was.

wwwooooowww
Really? woooooow
I can't believe that wooooooowwww
Thats crazy woooowww

I didn't even say anything after the story I was to busy laughing at his reactions.

If you guys know Levan Cuthbert he put them damn hood scoops on.
I was going to make them functional but now there deflated lol.

yeah I would contact the dealer and maybe get a newer car lol but then again they can can probably get you for modding the engine?

I think your allowed to swap pulleys with out voiding anything, plus it doesn't matter its totaled. I bought the car with the custom K&N and 180t stat so they pretty much sold me the car modded, and its a new/used car dealership probably the biggest in my city at least.

do a youtube search for grand prix, half the videos on there are of them catching on fire. I agree though, see what you can get from the dealer. If there was a recall out, I would expect a dealer to take care of it

I was hoping I could talk to someone this has happed to as the fire station seems to take I did this when I called them to help and they get the cops involved and seem to take that were all arsonist.... And they seem very convinced that we did this.

umm, yeah, grand prixs like to start themselves on fire. ...stupid cops... I've seen a couple burned up GPs in my junk yards from this.

Get a copy of the recall and take it to the police station. If the police report has a suspicion of arson, the insurance company won't pay. ...make sure your insurance agent/company is aware of it as well.

Yes, grand prixs DO spontaeously combust... doesn't matter about mods, just the leaky oil as jshifti33 stated.

Thanks guys yeah I'm going up there tomorrow... Thanks for all the help if everything works out in my favor i'm going to get a GXP or cobalt SS very soon.
I love GP GTPs =/

Thanks everyone again.

can you get your hands on a G8 GT? Insurance should cover your car. Ask them what to do if they think you are criminally liable, or are sued by someone. My insurance company handles that aspect, so I wouldn't have to worry about it.

Good news is gap is going to pay 1500, another part might be Pontiac paying the rest, which I will believe it when I see it there suppose to contact me within 7-10 business days... They must be some very busy people... lol

And thanks for all the help (03GTPLE) and everyone else =]

....wow, I'm really surprised that your insurance company isn't just cutting you a check!

but, glad to see resolution is in the works.
