hi everyone. it started out with a 77 grand prix i paid 200.00 for 301 v8, years later.....79 grand prix 2 door, loaded nice. had like a "slap type shifter" automatic...lsunroof... blue/green color. next grand prix was a 93 GTP fully loaded white b4u pkg. car got me into alot of trouble. hehe 3.4 dohc...put me thru it. amost done...95 grand prix se (not the b4u pkg) paid 300.00 for it and it had 271,000 miles. still have it, currently 4-25-09 298,345 miles car runs and drives like its got 70,000 wow. now and of course probobly the best grand prix so far is the 2000 GTP coupe white(the 93 gtp was coupe only. the 4 dr was an ste). this one however is supercharged, boosted! i need to get it right tho, has no compression on number 4, has lots of crankcase"vacuum" also blows sum blue smoke out the back. i believe the previous owner over heated it, seems like the coolant is and has been the problem for the engine. i am thinking cracked head/headgaskets......i am hoping its not a piston. i have seen pics on the pontiac grand prix forums, and well lets just say i hope its not the piston. has anyone gone thru this or maybe can help prepare me for the worst... i need some feedback annd any i get will be apriciated. one thing is clear..the gtp will be repaired, i just hope i do not need another engine. thanks in advance. hope its not too long for you all to read. se michigan here. when does it blow blue smoke, thats oil. Which would lead me to believe that the rings are bad and that the engine would need to be torn down and rebuilt or you can get a new one and drop it in. It really depends on when the blue smoke appears though.
