Hi all

Proud (and surprised!) new owner of a 2000 GTP here. My wife and I went car shopping yesterday, I was test driving an 01 PT Cruiser with a bad overheating problem. I got back (barely) and my wife was standing beside the GTP saying "what about this honey?" GAME ON!!! Drove like a dream and the first time the supercharge kicked in we were pretty much sold
Not sure exactly what I have on my hands lol, it goes like the hammers of hell, I looked under the hood and theres a big ol' K&N cold air intake (I knew that was good!) and bright blue plug wires. Under the car it had dual exhaust with MAGNAFLOW on the mufflers, had frumpy winter tires but there's a set of nice looking tires in the trunk.
Look forward to reading up on it, is kinda cool to have a family car that doubles as "Dad's Toy"-the previous Dad's Toy was a Fiero that died of rust.

Any advice on what I have on my hands, potential trouble spots, and care and feeding instructions would be most appreciated!

start by reading this even if u dont plan to mod the car http://www.grandprixforums.net/f81/safely-modding-your-3800-powered-car-17482.html ... gives alotta good info on what u should do... any other exhaust mods? such as headers, downpipe? what does the pulley look like on supercharger? stock pulley is pretty basic looking and black in color. stock downpipe is 2.5 inches... if u can get under car and look at downpipe where it connects to catback.. theres a thing called the U bend... u will notice it if its there. if its not it will have a piece of straight pipe welded in.

Lmao, I've always had a bit of a soft spot for PT's but after testing (and nearly not getting back) the last one I'm pretty much past it. At least I ended up with the right car :)
As soon as the monsoon stops I will definitely get some pix and post em

Welcome. Might take some pictures of the car and we can tell you what you have.. Also include a shot of the motor...
