Hey my names kyle Im 22 and I live in perry county ohio. I have 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix GT that was actually my moms and she gave it too me right now its all stock with the 4 spd automatic and the 3.8 v6 but the motor is locked up. Well Im kinda new here so look forward too seeing me around I guess. lol Later
 


welcome, find a supercharged motor "L67" and swap it in there... get it tuned for the 3.29 gear ratio and u will have one quick "GT" :)
 
Thanks buddy. Ive been hearing stuff about sticking the GTP 3.8 in it thats actually what Im wanting too do is making into a GTP mock up
 
its quite simple... all u need is a "complete" motor and the PCM (powertrain control module) which can be had pretty cheap if u shop around craigslist and other local junkyards

to keep the gear ratio of the GT u will need to have the PCM adjusted for it... its cheap though.. theres a member on here that can do it for less than 100 dollars. the 3.29 ratio is something us GTP guys all would like to have if they dont already have it. edit... i see u have a 97 which is the WEAKEST trans ever made for these cars..
 
Im converting everything over. supercharged 3.0 motor out of a 98 gtp I just gotta go get the car and it has I think its either a 4 or 5 spd standard the car has been wrecked I think mine has too by the previous owner that had it before my mom cause the core support couse straight across till you get too where the edge of the passenger side grill is then it bends back then goes straight then the radiator is bent as well and then under the driver side door where the side skirt is the bottom of the door bends in while the passenger side doesnt. Ive never had any problems with it overheating or anything but when we first got this motor in I toke it out and spun the front tires till they were just about bald. But back too the topic. lol The GTP Im getting Im not sure of the setup under the hood. I know its got the ram air kit cold air intake along with a K&N air filter and the guy who has it also put in it forged pistons and bored the heads out the back end is totalled but you can get in it and drive it and its got alot more power than my GT does its ridiculous but on mine I gotta swap out the front fasia cause of the front bumper missing some parts and then the back fasia is cracked between the exhaust and the the trunk leaks under the spoiler. I looked up everything I wanted for it Im paying 600 bux for the GTP cause the guy is holding it for me for a few months but the other than what I said the motor in it has now its almost stock but theres alot more I want too do it
 
i wouldnt buy that motor if i was u.. start off with a low mileage L67 or L32. 04+ have L32's and produce more HP and torque than an L67, then if u wanna mod it.. mod it correctly. ur taking alot of chances buying a modded motor that u know nothing about. ur money ur car... do what u wanna do. just giving my 02 cents.
