hey everyone ty for your help,input,advice and comments on my recent post bout my 2000 gtp 4t65e hd tranny swap in the 98 gtp wit the 4t65e hd.but,trannyman95 this is what i done to start wit.tore down the 98 gtp and change the epc and filter and fluid.the fluid was dark,bad and full of debris.bought a $200 tranny wit 12k on it.tore down the car swap trannys and it was leakin.come to find out the side cover had a crack in it!!hmm thats y it was outta fluid when i got it i supposed it evaporated for 8 yrs lol.thought it was the gasket so swap covers and FIXED!!! ty all and gl til next time and hope not any lol.
 


Glad you got it fixed ok and sorry to hear about the crack in the side cover! That is one thing you dont know until you fill it up and there is one bolt location that is a very common crack area if tightened down too much.
 
well i tightened down to around 40 ft. lbs and no more so no leaks at all the pan bolts r at 10 ft. lbs. and all this is by ur website lol...........and trannyman95 ty for ur help bro i have now learned alot about doing these trannys.wit 2 jacks and the getty up and go i can do this job in around 5 hrs. hey i might b slower than some of yall but i do it patiently and good.it drives and shifts like perfect wit 12k on my tranny and 170k on the motor this car is very fast and reliable now.and if it leaks its ur fault lol naw jk wit ya trannyman but yall b cool and ttyl.
