First post here on the Grand Prix forums. Nice to be here.

I've had 3 Grand Prix's before, a '75 a '77 and an '81 ( I would love to own another 70's GP), and I have always wanted a newer one, so a couple of weeks ago I bought a '98 Grand Prix GT at an auction with the 3.8L, black on black leather, electronic or electric everything. ODO has 226000km (135600 miles) on it, but the car looks amazing.

I got the car for $556 including all auction fees and taxes, so I am real excited about getting it inspected (I got it in another province, so it needs an inspection) and on the road. I drove it about 150km home from the auction and it drives great, just a bit of tire noise as the car needs an alignment.

The car has a new exhaust from the cat back, but only one muffler, this will be changed. Also, the rockers are non-existent, but can only be seen from under the car. Does anyone make replacement rocker panels for the GP?

Many Thanks,
Ian

Nice price, guy

Nice price, guy

It was in the non-mobile section of the auction because of a brake problem. I checked it out, the motor ran smooth as butter and it shifted forward and reverse.

I got it for $350 and with tax and auction fees plus gas to get it home, it cost $560. I fixed the brake line for free as my friend has the couplings necessary to fix it.

I did notice the missing rockers when I got under it, but it doesn't show on the top side. I'll get some replacement rockers like these for $60...

and weld them in. I have a mig welder, so it's only a matter of time.

I'll take pics tomorrow.
