Hey I just recently bought my girlfriends sisters old car from her. It is a 1998 grand prix se with the 3100. In my opinion i pretty much stole it from her for 500 bucks but she just wanted to get rid of it.

Anyway how do i tell what tranny this car has in it? Is it the 4t60e? I need to do a tranny service bad and want to buy a shift kit and install it at the same time.

Also I did a shift kit in my Camaro with a 4l60e, does anyone know how much more difficult it is to put one in a grand prix.

It is a 4T60E I believe.....

it would not be any different on installing the shift kit. same basic principals...

Shift kit is pretty easy to install with basic hand tools in about 30min to a hour. Welcome to the forum
 


Where should I look to buy a shift kit. I found one on the transgo site but then i cant find it anywhere, well i only checked ebay and summit.
 
Does anyone know if the thing circled in red on the 4t60e is the same as the thing circled in red on the 4l60e. Like if I had the upgraded 4l60e servo could I put it in there on the 4t60e?
