hey i have a proublem with a 99 regal (l67) the car turns over but no start i have fule spark and then the car back fires i am thinking it may of jumped timming has any one had this problem i was also thinking came position sensor ?? help would be greatly apprieated thanks
 


Cam position sensor shouldn't cause this issue. And our chains and gears are quite beefy, Never heard of a chain jumping a tooth in our setups.

Was anything done right before this started happening?
 
As mentioned, did this just happen randomly? Or did you replace parts and can't get it to start now?

Try unplugging the MAF sensor and see if it starts.
 
no i do not have any codes but it was in car in the junk yard it only had 60,xxx on it and was hit hard in the pass side the car ran whenit came in (sposely) the motor was pulled so... i cant try starting any more ... but thank you for the help any way....

So you just put the engine in and it won't start. Did you make sure to use all the sensors from the old engine and the old PCM?
 


no i havein put it my car yet but i am gunna just use the long block and i am gunna use all the stuff from my motor so.. i know mine ran but it just made a weird noise i have figured it out yet..
