Help with Ported Gen 3 supercharger!!

nawarkk

GPF Mr. President
I bought a ported Gen 3 from someone, go to put it on today and realize it's been shaved off where one of the two bolts for the MAP Sensor go in and where the black bracket bar from the alternator goes in.

We got the MAP sensor to stay still with just one screw, no problem. The black bracket from the alternator will not thread into the s/c at all. The hole is too short. What should I do? Do I even need that black bracket thing?

Here are some pics of the bolt area I'm talking about:

Map Sensor bracket just chilling in mid air, and the threaded hole that's too short. It looks like this entire area has been shaved off.

So my question is do I need the black bracket coming from the alternator?? If so what should I do about my situation?

My ZZP ported blower case was the same way. I supported the MAP sensor the same way, with 1 bolt.

Left the Alt bracket off, never had any problems.

Actually, I had it simply bolted to the Alt for awhile, not bolted anywhere else..
Then took it off, never had any problems.

I only have the alt bracket because mine is powdercoated.

Also...my MAP bracket is only supported by 1 bolt too because a million years ago...I lost mine when I removed the blower to have my 3.5" pressed on at the local machine shop.

Should be fine. If you have problems. Drop me a PM and I can FAB something up for you. But again, should be fine.

I have a ported gen 3 I swapped for the stock s/c.

I ran it without the bracket. It's running fine now. Thanks everyone for your input, I was freaking out for a second lol

This can be closed now ;)
