help with engine seletion

Whats years and models can i pull a engine out of to do a build.
Im not sure what years have changes
and what ill need to do a top swap after i build up the bottom end
I will be going genv or p&p genIII

Im goin pick-npull shopping so i need to know what range i have when i look at donor cars

Ive also noticed at some junkyards older model years parts are cheaper even tho they interchange in newer cars

All top swap info can be forund in a sticky in the NA section...

'97-'98

'99-'04

between these years there is a diffent blower/tb and a few other things.

You have a '98 so it shouldn't matter. Just either newer and save yourself some pain of upgrading later.
