Help with ABS

Hello, newbie here.
Need some help with my 04 Grand Prix. Recently my ABS started giving me headaches - needs a new wheel speed sensor. I want to know if any of you gurus knows how to completely kill it (ABS) without setting off messages in Driver Info Center. I can pull light bulbs outta cluster, no problem. But how do I stop warning messages. There should be away. I am not a big fan of ABS anyways.

There is no way to do that.

Sure you can pull the bulb out of the dash, but you can never disable the messege in the infomation center.

I would just buy a new hub and install it and be on your way. ABS can suck sometimes in the winter, but on dry roads its nice to know you won't lock them up and stop sooner.
 
What if I rip out ABS unit from under the hood and take out all relays and fuses? Isn't ABS just an option or all 04's have it?
 
Yes it is an option and pretty much 90% of all the cars have ABS.

But there would be more to it than that. The PCM/BCM, ABS module would all be tied together for what the car came with off the factory floor.

Even if you did remove all those things it would still want to throw those fault codes.
 
Oh, boy I thought there was a way, well thanks for your quick answers, I'll just have to clear it everytime..mechanic who looked at it said these cars are real bad for ABS problems with breaks in wire, sensors, etc. and with my luck, as soon as I fix one wheel the other one will start doing it....
 
most of the time the hub goes bad, sometimes the sensor in the hub goes bad, but most of the time the hub is shot, check them all for play by jacking the car up lugs tight, then grab the top of the tire with 2 hands, push and then pull firmly, your trying to feel any play. if the wheel moves the hub is bad.

you can watch the rotor where it meets the caliper too the rotor is bolted to the hub, the caliper is not, its bolted to the knuckle and wont move during this test.
