• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Help please!

Okay so I stripped the bolt that goes through the rear manifold and keeps the egr tube on. Beforehand I hit it with a torch and multiple pblaster squirts after I initially had trouble with it. The thing didn't budge one bit and my socket shredded the bolt. So anyone have any advice? So far this header install has been a nightmare

get a new bolt for the new headers oughta do. or delete the darn thing. thats what i did.. havent looked back since

oh I totally intend on getting a new bolt. I just need to get this bolt out so I can pull the rear manifold off and put the rear header on. Any tips on getting the stripped bolt off?

its tight back there, best thing maybe to un bolt the egr and take it off with the rear manifold. then get the bolt off with vice grips.

id take the erg off, its got two bolts there. to get the extra weight off tube, then un bolt its stand, its two bolts on the side of the bracket, then un bolt the other tube from the manifold pull the tube from the lim, then lift the rear manifold up and out, if you cant get it out ( you should) but high enough to un bolt it likely.

you'll need the down pipe un bolted to lift it up and out. or drop it out the bottom too. dp has to be off for either.

I had to use bolt outs on a few bolts..Not sure their real name, but the more you try to loosen it, the tighter it will dig into the bolt head, worked for 3 bolts for me now.

I've had to use a bolt out ... recently on Samm's actually. Keep in mind that you are looking at it backwards when it's in the engine bay.
