HELP... My car has a weird SMELL if floored/boosted??

Ok so since i've gotten my GTP ive noticed a smell if I floor the car, or if I get my boost pretty high, like being behind someone on the freeway and they floor there car you can smell something, exhaust etc. IDK.... IS this NORMAL ??? what should I do please help me... Is my car about to blow? it runs SO good.... Thx
 


I honestly don't know, sorry.

It could be that you're burning oil? And I am only saying this because it's happened with my friends brother except it was on a Taurus X. Everytime he'd floor the gas pedal, or get on it, and burnt oil smell would soon follow.
 
I dont think its burning oil... Doesnt smell like oil really, its that weird smell you smell if someone infront of you on the freeway (sometimes) floors there car, you can see them GO but smell there car as well...
 


No not really I have no idea what kinda smell it is.... IM lost on this one :( and I cant take it to a mechanic and be like FLOOR it then you'll smell it... IDK but ive noticed a weird noise in the rear of my car when shut it off.... Like a whisliting noise around my rear tires im sure its nothing of the same problem but my car runs really good, trans is smooth. So I am worried if something is going to fail soon... No service lights are on.
 
Is it more of a gas smell? Like when you ride behind a cat less car?

This is why we need smello-vision lol
 
ha ha. i would say its more of a gas smell rather then an egg... Not really sure, its one of those smells you cant put a name on... Driving regularly you don't smell a thing.:confused:
 
do you own a temp gauge with a laser pointer??? If you understand what I mean by that.

Do a few heavy throttle runs and pull over and check the cats temp, maybe its almost clogged and burning REALLY REALLY hot and causing that smell when all the extra air and fuel are being dumped into the motor.

OR you can do it at night and see after a few runs if the cat is glowing red.

Thats just an idea of what could be causing it.
 
i noticed that same smell last night when i came into boost which was very like wtf was that....the weird thing is it would do it when coming into low boost but when i would floor it all out it wouldnt be there. its odd ima check the cat and see if thats it
 




Gas smell: either running very rich or leaky injectors. Check spark plugs.
Rotten eggs: clogged cat
Burnt oil: rear valve cover is leaking on to rear exhaust manifold. Could be a fire hazard.
Sweet smell: Burning coolant, maybe lower intake manifold gasket, coolant elbow, etc. Check spark plugs.

Check all of your fluids for quality and fullness and pull your three front spark plugs to check them. Heck, show us a picture of them. Also, hold a mirror behind the engine to see if you've got an oil leak from the rear valve cover. Report back.
